Jalapáo is a biodiverse National Park in South America’s largest savanna and is home to natural springs, sand dunes and sparkling waterfalls. This ecological corridor, found in Tocantins and bordering Bahia, Piaui and Maranháo, is characterized by lush vegetation, orange earthen trails, sandy dunes and incredible lagoons periodically spread through the area. This paradisiacal zone is perfect for adrenalin junkies as well as nature lovers. Visitors are captivated with images of the unique “fervedouros”, which provide a constant up-flow of crystal clear water and are surrounded by tropical flora shading the perimeter. Many travellers never get beyond these pockets of paradise, but there is so much more to experience in this unique national park, including turquoise waterfalls and golden sand dunes.
