Day by day schedule
Day 01 -BUENOS AIRES
On your arrival at the Buenos Aires airport, you will be greeted by your driver to take you to your hotel in the City. After some time to rest up a little, your guide will come to the hotel for an afternoon tour of this incredible city.
Buenos Aires is a big city! The cosmopolitan capital is steeped in history, excellent eateries and coffee shops and cultural attractions abound. Its centre is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with 19th-century stately buildings including The Casa Rosada, the iconic presidential palace. Other attractions include the MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art and The Colón Theatre, a grand opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, dating back to 1908.
Day 02.BUENOS AIRES
Free day to enjoy the city and its many attractions! We suggest you visit a traditional estate where you will experience the native Gaucho traditions to the full. If you want more experience of the city itself, visit various neighbourhoods, with their distinctive characteristics and vibe. From the historic barrios of San Telmo and La Boca to the impressive parks and plazas of Palermo, Recoleta, and the contrasting modern skyscrapers of Puerto Madero. Or taste your way through Buenos Aires - from Argentinian pizza, Choripan, Empanadas and dulce de Leche with alfajores, for those with a sweeter tooth.
Day 03 -BUENOS AIRES - TRELEW- PENINSULA VALDES
After breakfast, we will head to the Airport for your onward flight to Trelew. On arrival, we will then have a connecting journey to the Peninsula Valdes. Peninsula Valdés is a Patagonian nature reserve on the coast of Argentina. It is renowned for its marine animals that inhabit its remote beaches and ocean, such as whales, sea lions and elephant seals. On the west of the peninsula, is the village Puerto Pirámides, once a salt-mining port. The nearby beaches of Los Molinos, with its abandoned windmill; and Las Cuevas, named after the caves in its lower cliffs are only some of the reasons to visit this area.
Day 04 -PENINSULA VALDES
Today, we will head to The Peninsula Valdes, a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, due to its incredible geography, flora and fauna. Between the months of June and December, we will be able to go whale spotting. During their breeding season, they inhabit the sea off the coast of the peninsula. On dry land, we can observe the sea lion colonies and if we are lucky the Orcas!
Day 05 -PENINSULA VALDES- BAHIA BUSTAMANTE
Today we will visit the Bahia Bustamante. If you are travelling from September to March, we will have the opportunity to see one of the most important Magellan Penguins colonies in the world at Punta Tombo. Later, in the afternoon we will arrive at Bahia Bustamante. Our Patagonian paradise for the following three days
Day 06 -BAHIA BUSTAMANTE
Bahia Bustamante is an Argentinian estate surrounded by history and incredible nature. It is located in the Austral National Park of Patagonia. Here we will have the opportunity to see the incredible variety of wildlife and the plethora of bird species. The Estate offers many different activities for your stay in the bay, which are organized by our specialist guides, depending on the season you visit and the weather conditions.
Day 07 -BAHIA BUSTAMANTE
Today, you can choose amongst the many activities on offer at the estate; including a cruise along the seaweed meadows of Malaspina Cove to spot the array of penguins and birds; a visit to The Petrified forest; head out to the Penguin Island, go horse riding or visit the Cape of Aristizabal. These are just some of the amazing things to see and do in the area.
Day 08 -BAHIA BUSTAMANTE - PUERTO DESEADO
Today we will head off to the Puerto Deseado. Lodgings for the evening are somewhat basic, but the unique landscape will more than make up for it! The comfortable yet humble lodge in this incredible part of the world is where Charles Darwin completed his explorations, during the 14th century.
Day 09 -PUERTO DESEADO
Today, we will explore the Charles Darwin Camp, giving us a unique insight into his studies of the area and the native animal species living there. The area is so incredibly stunning; it illustrates Darwin’s works that featured in his diaries. After lunch, the locals will show us around this amazing estate to learn about its long history.
Day 10 -PUERTO DESEADO
In the morning, we will head off by boat, towards Penguin Island. The island was declared a Marine Park because it is one of the most biodiverse marine sites in the whole of Patagonia. This is one of the few places in the world where the Magellan and Southern Rockhopper penguins co-exist in harmony.
Day 11 -PUERTO DESEADO – PUERTO SANTA CRUZ
During the trip to Santa Cruz port, taking about six hours, we will make a stop at Monte Leon National Park. It was the first national park to protect the coastal area and many sea creatures' ocean habitat. We will also have the opportunity to explore a penguin colony, close up!
Day 12 -PUERTO SANTA CRUZ- RIO GALLEGOS- BUENOS AIRES
Today, we will head off to Rio Gallegos and its small airport, to take our flight to The Buenos Aires' airport for our last night in the capital. On arrival, your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel for your final evening in this cosmopolitan capital city. We fully recommend a dinner and tango show in one of the famous tango houses, to enjoy Argentinian culture to the full!
Day 13 -HOME
Today we will say goodbye for now, to this incredible country and we will take you to the airport for your flight home or onto your next destination!
