Trip Overview

The incredible Lost City Reserve is one of the most remote experiences in Colombia. Hidden deep in the Sierra Nevada jungle, the Lost City was built by the Tairona people over 1000 years ago. The only way to arrive at this city is to hike, making it perfect for adventurous nature lovers, winding through banana plantations, dangling vines and through the coffee-growing region. Once a cocaine-producing region, the discovery of the Lost City in 1970, has given the local communities a more legitimate source of income, with tourism to the area on the increase. By travelling to this remote jungle region, you are helping local indigenous people thrive, while you get totally off the beaten track!

Special features of our Lost City Adventure tour:

Type of Tourism:  Nature, Adventure, Activities, Trekking, Off the beaten track.

Places to Visit:  Santa Marta, Ciudad Perdida, Tayrona, Cartagena

Duration:  9 Days and 8 Nights.

Type of Service: group tours.

Accommodation:  3 star hotels wherever available and sleeping in hammocks in the Lost City area. There is no hot water in this remote area and bathrooms are shared. This is an ecological destination, so services are basic yet comfortable, clean and safe.

Excellent experience

We have spent 10 days in Peru on a school trip and Valencia Travel was the local partner. We were very pleased with the itinerary and the support from our guides and drivers. We spent several days in Cusco, then went to a local Cacao Farm and after of course Aguas Calientes. Everyone in the group had a great time and our guide Ronaldo tried his best to ensure all needs were met.

Best travel guide and company for our family trip to Machu Picchu

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) did the short Inka trail to Machu Picchu and our guide Carlos Caceres was the best! He made our trip to Machu Picchu very special and memorable. He was very experienced, kind, patient and always made sure we were taken care of. The trip went so smoothly because of Carlos. From making sure we got on trains to buses to trail crossings to restaurants in town, he was always on top of it. Highly recommend Valencia Travel Cusco and Carlos as your guide. We were grateful for everything.
