Trip Overview
Costa Rica boasts incredible, pristine beaches on both of its coasts. It is one of the places in the few places in the world where you can visit both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts on the same day! However, we will take things a little slower here with a volcano visit along the way, with this 10-day itinerary to experience the amazing beaches that Costa Rica has to offer. You can take it as active or relaxed as you like, with many adventure activities available at each of the destinations we visit and stunning, idyllic beaches to relax on, on both of these Costa Rican coastlines.
Day by day schedule
Day 1:Welcome to San Jose
A specialized guide will be waiting for you at the gate from the airport, holding a sign with your names to take them to the hotel in a comfortable vehicle with air-conditioning. On the way, you will be able to admire the city, learn about the history and get some tips about the best things to do and the best restaurants to eat.

Day 2:Starting the Adventure from Tortuguero
Away from the city and made up by an extensive network of rivers and canals, the access for Tortuguero is only possible only through small boats. On this day after your breakfast we will pick you up from the hotel to take you to a lodge located in the Tortuguero National Park, you will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore.

Day 3:Exploring the Tortuguero National Park
Today you will get to tour the village of Tortuguero and enjoy a boat ride along the canals that comprise the wonderful land of Tortuguero, the canals of Tortuguero are a popular attraction in Costa Rica. With rainforests, wildlife, sea turtles, crocodiles and a labyrinth of natural waterways, the region offers an authentic rainforest experience. We can explore the lush flora and abundant fauna of the Caribbean coastal waterways by boat.
We will also have a visit to the village of Tortuguero which is known for its ecotourism and extensive network of canals, and lies amidst tropical lowland rainforests, magnificent rivers, and pristine beaches. Take the unique opportunity to watch baby green turtles hatch along the shoreline, or discover the park, home to over 300 species of bird, a variety of flora, and diverse fauna.

Day 4:From Tortuguero to La Fortuna
Today you will leave the canals in tortuguero and go to the volcanic region of the Arenal. Literally translated from Spanish as “The Fortune". The pleasant town of La Fortuna is usually described as “a small and leisurely town,” tucked into the base of the Arenal Volcano. You’ll be able to explore small shops, a colorful and radiant central park, and a backdrop that’s organized around the region’s picture-perfect volcano, not to mention the delicious hot springs that surround it.

Day 5:Arenal Volcano National Park
On this day we will have our hike to the Arenal National Volcano Park. Located in central Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano National Park lies within the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area and encompasses eight of the country’s 12 protected life zones. The park is home to the majority of Costa Rica’s 850 bird species, and an array of exotic creatures such as capuchin monkeys, parrot snakes, jaguars and deer, and its diverse landscapes include grasslands and volcanic badlands. Overlooking the park is the magnificent Arenal Volcano as well as the Chato Volcano, complete with a stunning lagoon. Experience this exciting region by hiking through lava fields and rainforests, spotting birds and animals, and taking a dip in the hot springs.

Day 6:Ecotermal Hot Springs

Day 7:Arrival to Guanacaste
Today after breakfast you will be transferred from Arenal to Guanacaste which is known for its beautiful North Pacific beaches and miles of grassy plains that give way to dry tropical forests. Playa Hermosa is part of this amazing territory.

- Transport: Shuttle transfer from Arenal to Guanacaste (2 hours approx.).

Day 8:Leisure Day

This morning you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the airport.
