A specialized guide will be waiting for you at the gate from the airport, holding a sign with your names to take them to the hotel in a comfortable vehicle with air-conditioning. Away from the city and made up by an extensive network of rivers and canals, the access for Tortuguero is only possible only through small boats. On this day after your breakfast we will pick you up from the hotel to take you to a lodge located in the Tortuguero National Park, you will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore.

Today you will get to tour the village of Tortuguero and enjoy a boat ride along the canals that comprise the wonderful land of Tortuguero, the canals of Tortuguero are a popular attraction in Costa Rica. With rainforests, wildlife, sea turtles, crocodiles and a labyrinth of natural waterways, the region offers an authentic rainforest experience. We can explore the lush flora and abundant fauna of the Caribbean coastal waterways by boat.
We will also have a visit to the village of Tortuguero which is known for its ecotourism and extensive network of canals, and lies amidst tropical lowland rainforests, magnificent rivers, and pristine beaches. Take the unique opportunity to watch baby green turtles hatch along the shoreline, or discover the park, home to over 300 species of bird, a variety of flora, and diverse fauna.

Today you will leave the canals in tortuguero and go to the volcanic region of the Arenal. Literally translated from Spanish as “The Fortune". The pleasant town of La Fortuna is usually described as “a small and leisurely town,” tucked into the base of the Arenal Volcano. You’ll be able to explore small shops, a colorful and radiant central park, and a backdrop that’s organized around the region’s picture-perfect volcano, not to mention the delicious hot springs that surround it.

On this day we will have our hike to the Arenal National Volcano Park. Located in central Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano National Park lies within the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area and encompasses eight of the country’s 12 protected life zones. The park is home to the majority of Costa Rica’s 850 bird species, and an array of exotic creatures such as capuchin monkeys, parrot snakes, jaguars and deer, and its diverse landscapes include grasslands and volcanic badlands. Overlooking the park is the magnificent Arenal Volcano as well as the Chato Volcano, complete with a stunning lagoon. Experience this exciting region by hiking through lava fields and rainforests, spotting birds and animals, and taking a dip in the hot springs.

Wonderful
Amazing Peru! We had Ruben as our tour guide and he made the experience for us such a wonderful one! He guided us through Lima, Amazon Jungle, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and also an optional Mara’s and Moray tour. His knowledge of Peruvian history and of the sites he took us to was informative and relevant. His exceptionally caring demeanour towards our group and his great sense of humour and high energy made the 13 days together seeing Peru a pleasure for me. Excellent Guide Willington Calderon
Willington Calderon was our guide, he picked us up from the Airport on 17th Sept 2026 to the Accommodation. He was our guide for our South America tour 17th Sept to 29th Sept. On 19th flew to Puerto Maldonado, Amazon Jungle, Cusco. All through our Guide WIllington was excellent, explained all details of the places that we visited. He is a learned person, sharing his views and been very friendly all the time. He was very helpful and available every time we needed. He has excellent command over English to explain and answered all our doubts. He was not just a guide to us, but a very good friend now. We missed him upon 12th day as we had to visit other nearby countries. I would highly recommend Willington as a guide to all other tourists in future..

Amazing Experience
Our 12 day adventure in Peru was part of a 31 day Trip A Deal Tour(Ultimate South America Adventure). We were lucky enough to have Ruben as our guide for the whole 12 days. Not only was he super organised and very knowledgeable, but his sense of humour was a good fit for the 19 Aussies and New Zealanders in our tour group, which made everything so much fun. Ruben cared about everyone in the group and went out of his way to help with any issues and problems and he also tried his best to accommodate any suggestions and requests along the way. Ruben's instructions were always clear and for the whole 12 days in Peru I felt completely safe and comfortable about timing and the itinerary. A brilliant experience and loved every minute. Amazing adventure in Peru
