Costa Rica boasts incredible, pristine beaches on both of its coasts. It is one of the places in the few places in the world where you can visit both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts on the same day! However, we will take things a little slower here with a volcano visit along the way, with this 10 day itinerary to experience the amazing beaches that Costa Rica has to offer. You can take it as active or relaxed as you like, with many adventure activities available at each of the destinations we visit and stunning, idyllic beaches to relax on, on both of these Costa Rican coastlines.

Today is your arrival day to the San José airport. We will collect you and take you to the hotel to settle in. You will have a free afternoon and evening to explore the modern, Costa Rican Capital with its bustling commerce and excellent services for visitors. San Jose offers a variety of touristic, cultural and natural attractions, like the museums of Costa Rican Art, Gold, Jade, National and Children’s Contemporary Art and Design. The National Theatre and the historical architecture of the buildings and churches close to parks and monuments are worth visiting.
Today we will head out to the Caribbean coast. We will travel through the jungle paradise of The Braulio Carrillo National park, to the Caribbean beach town of Puerto Viejo.
After breakfast, we will head out on a snorkelling tour of the 2nd largest coral reef in the world. We can appreciate the incredible sea life, corals and crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. In the afternoon, we will head out on a hike through the spectacular coastal forest to see some of the local flora and fauna. We will then head back to the hotel for the evening.
Today is a free day to relax on one of the many pristine beaches or participate in one of the many adventure activities available such as cycling, snorkelling or a number of water sports.
After breakfast, we will head inland to the Arenal volcano area. The magnificent view of the Arenal volcano is the first sign that we are approaching our destination. On arrival, we will check in to our hotel for the evening.
After a free morning, we will head out on an afternoon hike through the rainforest. We will be walking over the ancient lava flows of the impressive volcano, while we appreciate the impressively unique views of the volcano. At the end of the hike, we can relax in the Tabacon Hot Springs. We will then go back to the hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, we will leave the impressive view of the volcano behind us, heading through the Guanacaste province. The area is blessed with magnificent savannas, landscapes and tropical dry forests, which will offer the backdrop for our journey.
We will have 2 full days to experience the North Pacific coast beaches of the area or to relax and enjoy the facilities in this fantastic hotel.
Activities include; swimming, diving, fishing, kayaking, stand up paddleboard, surfing, hiking to the national parks and mountains, horse riding, visit the hot springs, rappelling, canyoning, ziplining, rafting or simply relax and take in the sun at any of the spectacular beaches of the area.
Today is the final day of our tour. We will leave Liberia and head to the local airstrip for our flight back to the capital. On arrival to San Jose, we will assist you to the International departure lounge for your flight back home or on to your next exciting destination!
