Your guide will collect you from the hotel and take you to the airport for your onward flight to Calama in the Atacama Desert. San Pedro de Atacama is a small oasis town located at 2,500 metres elevation. Found in the Cordillera de Los Andes, it is the home of the Atacama Desert, the most arid desert in the world. It is considered the archaeological capital of Chile.

The Awasi Lodge staff will be waiting for you at The Calama airport to take you to the lodge. 

Awasi first opened its doors in 2006, to create an intimate environment where guests could enjoy the Atacama Desert's natural beauty. They offer memorable travel experiences through exquisite lodgings, gastronomy and activities in the region. Each room has a private patio, a reading area, and an outdoor shower. The natural elements surrounding Awasi have been incorporated into its architecture, being constructed using only local materials like adobe, stone, and wood. As for the cuisine, our chefs have incorporated the diverse smells and flavours and textures of the Atacama region into the kitchen, using native ingredients such as purple potatoes, patasca, quinoa and chañar, among others. These ingredients have been part of the local diet for thousands of years and will show you some of the area's traditional recipes.  

All of the activities are private and tailored made according to your preference. Each room is assigned an expert guide and a 4WD vehicle so you can coordinate your outings, as and when you like. Awasi focuses on the smaller details to ensure a harmonious balance between leisure, adventure, luxury, authenticity, simplicity and sophistication.

After breakfast, we will head to the Calama airport for our flight to Punta Arenas via Santiago.

On arrival, you will be met by your guide and taken to the Awasi lodge in Patagonia. 

Awasi Patagonia hotel is located in a private reserve, with spectacular views of the Torres del Paine and Lago Sarmiento. The area is protected from the strong Patagonian winds by a lush native forest of beech and ñirres. The fauna is pristine in these forests and plains and is the habitat of guanacos, rheas, foxes, condors and pumas. The strategic location allows you to enjoy The Torres del Paine National Park from the intimacy of our private reserve. 

For the duration of your stay, you will have a 4x4 vehicle and a private guide to help you design the excursions that best suit your preferences and interests. You may choose between full-day excursions with lunch included (from 4 to 6 hrs.) Or two half-day excursions (between 2 and 5 hrs.) returning to have lunch at Awasi in-between.

In the morning we will leave the Awasi Lodge for the Punta Arenas airport for your onward flight to Santiago. On arrival to Santiago airport, your guide will take you to Vina Vik, located in Chile's Central wine valley.
