Costa Rica Natural Honeymoon

La Fortuna is close by to the Arenal National park, making it the perfect play to stay to explore the Arenal Volcano. This magnificent conical volcano rises up from San Carlos Plains. Today we will explore the national park with “Sky Walk”, perfect for nature-lovers. We will combine some hiking with the extreme adventure of the suspended bridges. This is perfect for experiencing the magnificent Arenal rainforest with its incredible flora and fauna. The park is renowned for its variety of bird species and spectacular waterfalls. We will reach the highest point in the park, marking the start of an adrenalin-filled adventure. High above the tree canopy, there is a system of zip lines, that allows you to observe the rainforest and surrounding landscape from a different perspective, above the jungle. We will be able to witness a panoramic view of the Arenal volcano and lake, found in the park for a spectacular birdseye view.

After breakfast we will visit the centrepiece of the Arenal National Park, the impressive Arenal Volcano. We will combine hiking with a boat trip onto the Arenal lake for the best possible views. Our guide will explain the history of the Volcano and the park plus the array of different plants and animals we will see along the way. We start hiking over the lava flow of the 1992 eruption, passing through the second-growth forest then to the volcanic rocks that were spewed out in1992. On a clear day, we can see spectacular views of the impressive volcano. We will then hike along the “La Peninsula” trail, taking us to the shores of Lake Arenal. We pass through lush tropical forests to a lookout tower, offering exceptional panoramic views of the area, including the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. On the lake's shores, we will take a boat ride to a spot known locally as “el tapón” the earth dam that helped form the lake. After this spectacular day, we will head back to the luxury hotel for the evening.

The Papagayo area is formed by spectacular beaches along this part of the northern Pacific Coast in Guanacaste. Formerly part of Nicaragua, before being annexed to Costa Rica in 1824, Guanacaste has a long history as a cattle-raising area. Its Sabanero, cowboy culture, still defines the province's personality with traditions, foods and music. While many of Guanacaste’s beaches are coveted by surfers, those on the Gulf of Papagayo are protected, making them great for families with children or honeymooners looking for tranquillity. All of Costa Rica’s beaches are public, but because the Peninsula is gated the beaches here are more secluded. The area is filled with the vibrant bays and inlets, as well as plenty of peace and quiet for those looking to get away from it all in a tropical paradise.

Now for the relaxing part of the tour! Sail along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white sand beaches and tropical jungles. Gaze into the distance with a cold cocktail, as you search the ocean for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish or even a whale or two! Stop in a tranquil bay, drop anchor and swim in the blue Pacific. Snorkel in the bay or run down the deserted white sand beach. The catamaran will set sail and you will hear the waves alongside the giant catamaran as the sun sets, illuminating the clouds on the horizon. Bring your camera and capture the unforgettable moments of paradise.

Today is a free day to enjoy the pristine beaches or the hotels' facilities. The hotel will make you feel like you are at your own personal beach house, lounging in hammocks surrounded by lush gardens and towering palm trees. Today is our final day of this honeymoon tour. We will head to the hotel in San Jose where you can enjoy the luxury facilities in this incredible hotel and we can celebrate the final evening in the colourful capital.

Today after breakfast, we will take you to the San Jose airport for your flight back home, or onto your next exciting destination.
