Luxurious Costa Rica Honeymoon

La Fortuna is close to the Arenal National park, making it the perfect play to stay to explore the Arenal Volcano. This magnificent conical volcano rises up from San Carlos Plains. The surrounding mountains, lake, natural reserves, rivers, canopy tours, culture tours, hot springs and rainforest, make this an excellent honeymoon destination.  Soak up the incredible hot springs heated by the volcano, surrounded by glorious countryside destination. After breakfast we will visit the centrepiece of the Arenal National Park, the impressive Arenal Volcano. We will combine hiking with a boat trip onto the Arenal lake for the best possible views. Our guide will explain the history of the Volcano and the park plus the array of different plants and animals we will see along the way. We start hiking over the lava flow of the 1992 eruption, passing through the second-growth forest then to the volcanic rocks that were spewed out in1992. On a clear day, we can see spectacular views of the impressive volcano. We will then hike along the “La Peninsula” trail, taking us to Lake Arenal's shores. We pass through lush tropical forests to a lookout tower, offering exceptional panoramic views of the area, including the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. On the lake's shores, we will take a boat ride to a spot known locally as “el tapón” the earth dam that helped form the lake. After this spectacular day, we will head back to the luxury hotel for the evening.

After breakfast, we will head out on a horse ride to the La Fortuna waterfall. A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some bird species such as the oropendola and tucan. We will hike into the forest to see the stunning 70 m high waterfall. There is a “natural pool” where we can swim in the freshwater of La Fortuna River to freshen up at the base of the waterfall.

After breakfast, we will leave Arenal and head to Papagayo. The Papagayo area is formed by spectacular beaches along this part of the northern Pacific Coast in Guanacaste. Formerly part of Nicaragua, before being annexed to Costa Rica in 1824, Guanacaste has a long history as a cattle-raising area. Its Sabanero, cowboy culture, still defines the province's personality with traditions, foods and music. While many of Guanacaste’s beaches are coveted by surfers, those on the Gulf of Papagayo are protected, making them great for families with children or honeymooners looking for tranquillity. All of Costa Rica’s beaches are public, but because the Peninsula is gated the beaches here are more secluded. The area is filled with the vibrant bays and inlets, as well as plenty of peace and quiet for those looking to get away from it all in a tropical paradise.

Today, we will head out for a “Land of Senses” tour. You will be surprised by the different environments. One minute, you are in a tall, lush green forest when minutes before we were driving for what seemed like endless dry plains of this region of Guanacaste. We will head off on a visit along a lush jungle trail called Sensoria. Get ready for the experience of deep blue springs, impressive thermal pools, energetic waterfalls and a chance to see some of the famous wildlife of Costa Rica. This naturally protected wildlife sanctuary is located near to Rincon de la Vieja volcano. After an inspirational hike through the rainforest, we will learn about its mysteries and its fascinating inhabitants after which, we can relax in a natural pool of warm volcanic water.

Today we will head to the Liberia airport for our flight to San Jose. This will be the final evening of the tour!

Today after breakfast, we will collect you from your hotel to take you to the airport for your flight back home or on to your next exciting destination.
