Chiloe Island is famous for its history, folklore, legend and handicrafts. This stunning island is covered by rolling hills and an evergreen forest and boasts an incredible variety of birdlife. With over 150 wooden churches, and picturesque timber houses perched, over the water on stilts, it is possible to stay overnight on the island. In recent years, several charming boutique properties have opened on the island. The penguin colony and stopping to try some of Chiloé’s world-famous oysters are only a few of the highlights on this remote island!

Today we will experience all that Chiloe’s cultural, agricultural and religious heritage has to offer, by visiting the villages of Dalcahue, Curaco de Veléz and Achao. We can appreciate World Heritage churches, small yet interesting museums, artisans crafts and delicious cuisine. Today we will visit Chepu, where you can sail in a local boat to do some bird spotting. We walk for approximately 20 minutes to the Muelle de la Luz, where we will have a panoramic view of the Ocean. We will then return to Castro for the evening.
Today, we will experience the spectacular landscape of Chiloe, where Charles Darwin himself was amazed by the lakes Huillinco, Cucao and the Pacific Ocean. Today we will head back to Puerto Montt Airport, bordering the coastal route and stopping at the village of San Juan. We will visit Tenayn, the world heritage church of Colo and the small village of Quemchi, along the way.
We will then continue to the Chachao Channel, crossing on the ferry, to arrive at Puerto Montt Airport, for your onward flight to your next exciting destination!
