Salvador in Bahia is famed for its carnival and its pristine, stunning beaches, the fascinating cultural heritage of its Portuguese, African and Indigenous native communities; Rio de Janeiro, is a vibrant city with something for everyone, safe beaches, spectacular mountain hikes, Sugar Loaf Mountain, jeep rides up to the top of the Corcovado mountain, treetop walkways and bike rides along with the famous beaches. Iguazu Falls is the experience of a lifetime, to witness these powerful waterfalls. Including boat rides and a visit to the nearby bird park, rich Brazilian flora and fauna including rare and threatened species. If you are short on time, then this 11 day itinerary is the perfect option to experience Brazil to the full, in a short timescale.

Bahia by Jorge Amado & Yemanjá House

Jorge Amado was one of the most awarded Brazilian writers and has many works adapted for films, theater plays and television programs. His books have been published in 55 countries and translated into 49 languages. But above all, he described Bahia as anyone, detailing the typical customs and valuing the miscegenation of the population, as well as the contradictions of their free and conservative way. 

This tour takes guests to Rio Vermelho House, where Jorge Amado and his wife, Zelia, lived with their family. It also goes to the Yemanjá house in the same bohemian neighborhood of Rio Vermelho, ending in a visit at the neighborhood market, Ceasinha of Rio Vermelho, to taste the typical foods that Jorge Amado praised in his works. Finally, you will go to one of the local restaurants of the market to enjoy a delicious meal.

Day 5:Arrival to Foz do Iguacu

Foz do Iguacu is an important Brazilian town within the state of Parana, set close to the three-way border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. On this day you will take your flight from Salvador Bahia to Foz do Iguacu (not included) and at your arrival there will be a specialized guide to transfer you to your hotel, the rest of the day will be at leisure you can be ready for the adventure from the next day!

Day 6:The Iguazu falls on its Glory!

On the transfer to the Argentine side of Iguassu Falls, we will cross a bridge with 480 meters in length that was built in 1985, known popularly as the "International Fraternity Bridge" although its official name is International Tancredo Neves Bridge, conecting Brazil (Foz do Iguaçu) and Argentina (Puerto Iguazu). We will arrive at the Guests Center and the Iguazu National Park Entrance, which has snack bars, a restaurant, souvenir shops, toilets, medical attention and an interpretive building with giant panels showing the biodiversity of the subtropical humid forest. To get to the catwalks and see the Falls, guests take the gas-propelled trains that will lead to the Upper and Lower Falls Circuits, for walks around forests and beautiful landscapes, and especially the Devil’s Throat, which provides one of the best views of the Falls, due to the impact of the water that makes big clouds of steam and form an incredible rainbow. 

After that, we will go to the Brazilian side and arrive at the National Park and encounter a breathtaking panoramic view of the falls. The contrast between the green of the vegetation and the white falls caused by its strength is very enchanting. You will have the opportunity to walk along the trails to appreciate landscapes and the different points of view that the park provides.

A dynamic coastal neighbourhood synonymous with leisure, luxury and nightlife, Copacabana is characterised by million-dollar penthouses, stunning neoclassical buildings and tiny apartments set against a magnificent backdrop of jungle-clad mountains in Rio de Janeiro. On this day you will take your flight from Foz do Iguacu back to Rio de Janeiro at your arrival a specialized guide will be waiting for you so you can be transferred to your hotel.

Day 8:Visit to Rio de Janeiro & Corcovado

One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the magnificent Christ the Redeemer, the iconic statue on top of Corcovado Hill, Rio’s most famous landmark. The Corcovado Hill is part of the Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. On the way to its top is the Dona Marta belvedere, from where is possible to see the Maracanâ Loaf. Once at the top of Corcovado Hill, it is possible to admire breath-taking views of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the Botanical Garden.

Founded in 1808, the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro is one of the most important global research centres in the botanic area and in the conservation of biodiversity. Huge trees decked with orchids contrasting with giant water lilies, bromeliads and tropical foliage make that place a favourite hideaway for nature lovers or for just whoever is seeking peace and tranquillity. The Botanic Garden also houses monuments of historical, artistic and archaeological significance, right at the foot of Corcovado Mountain.

We start this tour from the hotel after breakfast to visit the most famous landmarks sites of the city and see from above the natural beauty of Rio. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, guests arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. They embark on a comfortable train that ascends the mountain and get at the statue of Christ the Redeemer, located 2,300 ft above sea level. Once at the top, we will be able to use the panoramic elevators to get the to the foot of the statue, as well as enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. After we will go to the botanical garden.
