Argentine Patagonia

Buenos Aires

When you visit Buenos Aires, it is unlike any other city you’ll visit in your life. Argentina’s capital and largest city is a hotspot for music, food, the arts, and dancing. The city is one of the most diverse cities in Latin America, home to beautiful, warm, and friendly people from all around the globe. This combination of South American flair and European elegance that makes the Argentine capital stand out. From the French-influenced tango music to the Spanish-inspired “picada” appetizer plate offered at almost every restaurant in Buenos Aires, the modern-day Argentine capital offers quite a singular cultural experience. Beautiful boutique shops line the streets of Palermo Soho, a hub of the relentlessly creative design district in Buenos Aires. Be prepared for long strolls interrupted by halting stops to gawk at window designs. The shops have everything from high-end shoes and belts, chic skirts, and dresses to glittery custom jewelry and stylish jeans. Palermo also has dozens of cafes, bars, and restaurants catering to nearly every palate. You won’t go hungry in this part of Argentina. Head to San Telmo Market for the best cultural and shopping experience, and make your way to the Sunday antique fair at Plaza Dorrego. Artisans, musicians, stilt walkers, and other street performers line the streets, and you can buy souvenirs such as silver, paintings, and sculptures.

Patagonia

Next up is your Patagonia tour. In 1981, Los Glaciares National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Foundation site and includes ice fields covering about 40% of the surface, two lakes, and 47 major glaciers. The glacial activities in the park are mainly visible around two lakes, Argentino, the largest lake in Argentina, and already 15,000 years old, and Lake Viedma, which both flow into the Río Santa Cruz which runs east into the Atlantic. At these lakes, you can see spectacular shows of glaciers dumping chunks of ice into the chilly glacial waters below. The park is located in the area known as Austral Andes in Argentina, on the Chilean border. You can take even take horse rides through the natural beauty or relax at estancias (ranches) nearby. The park also includes mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests and reaches into the arid Patagonian steppes to the east. Among the steep, jagged granite mountain peaks Cerro Fitz Roy, also known as Chaltén at 11236 ft (3405m) and Cerro Torre at 10236 ft (3102 m). Perito Moreno is one of the most famous and accessible glaciers to visit. It stretches nearly 20 miles long and is one of the few advancing or growing glaciers in the world, making it a great place to have wonderful trekking opportunities on your Patagonia tour.

Iguazu (both sides )

Taller and wider than Niagara Falls, with 275 cascades spread into a horseshoe shape over nearly 2 miles of the Iguazu River, Iguazu Falls attract nearly 2 million nature lovers and adventure travelers to the "Triple Frontier"—the intersection of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay—every year. Also spelled Iguaçu Falls, they are UNESCO-recognized and together make up the largest waterfall in the world.  The term "Iguazú" means "great waters" in the Guarani language. Along with Nahuel Huapi National Park in Patagonia, Iguazú Falls is among the most frequented tourist sites in Argentina, and for good reason. Visitors can enjoy the awe-inspiring views of the falls along with tours, treks, and water sports at the falls' base. Iguazu waterfalls are voted as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and on the list of UNESCO World Heritage. Most people head to Niagara Falls to experience a scenic view while admiring the massive falls on a boat or a viewing deck, however, these falls are on a whole different level. These remarkable falls mark the end of this Argentina vacation, which only takes 8 days!
