Santiago, the cosmopolitan capital, Valparaiso is the colourful fishing town on the coast steeped in history, Colchagua is the picturesque wine valley for one of Chile´s top exports and the uniquely stunning Easter Island in the South Pacific, steeped in mysticism and legend. This 13-day itinerary takes in the most important parts of the country so that you do not miss out on the fascinating history and culture that the country has to offer.

It’s a long way north to San Pedro de Atacama, a small town in the middle of the desert that serves as the main tourism hub for this remarkable region. Visit steaming hot geysers, bizarre rock formations, and high-altitude lagoons surrounded by snow-capped volcanos.

This trendy little seaport town has earned the reputation of being a true bohemian paradise. With jaw-dropping street art adorning almost every wall, Valparaiso is the place to be for hip young millennials.

The wine regions

Most of Chile’s wine is produced within just a few hours’ drive of Santiago. Throughout the region, a huge number of world-class vineyards offer wine tasting tours where a copious amount of vino is liberally dispersed among thirsty travelers. Salud!

Easter Island

Easter Island is the world’s most remote island. Known in Spanish as Isla de Pascua or in Polynesian as Rapa Nui, Easter Island brims with history, culture, people, and nature that make the journey here unforgettable. The island is best known for its 887 human-shaped figures, called moai statues. They were, impressively, carved from rock and transported around the island. The moai are believed to have honored ancestors and they rest on stone shrines known as ahu. While not all remained in great condition, some have been restored and all have been protected after the island achieved UNESCO World Heritage status. Easter Island is a five-hour flight from Chile, making a journey to the island a perfect way to disconnect. Discover the beauty of its natural resources by visiting the beach, riding horses around the island, or by surfing and scuba diving.
