Full of culture, history and Colonial architecture, the city was originally built by the Aztecs in 1325 on the dry bed of Lake Texcoco. It is surrounded by high mountains and volcanos in the valley of Mexico, also known locally as the Valley of the Damned. Blending Hispanic and indigenous culture, was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mexico City has left behind its bad reputation for crime and pollution and is now better known for its thriving nightlife, cuisine, culture and vibrant cosmopolitan energy.

Today is the day that you arrive to the biggest city in the world, Mexico City. Your guide will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel. You will have a free evening and afternoon

Today we will head out on a full day tour of the city. We will visit the famous Casa Azul, the home that belonged to Frida Kahlo, the famous artist. We will experience a “trajinera” ride, the mexican version of a gondola, along the Xochimilco canal which runs through the city, taking us to the Zocalo, main square Palacio Nacional, Catedral and the The fine arts palace. We will enjoy some of the local flavours in a traditional restaurant for a full introduction to the amazing Mexican cuisine!
After breakfast, we will visit the plaza de Tres Culturas, the pyramids of Teotihuacan, where the sun moon and the beyond, all combine at The Pyramid of the Sun, the largest pyramid in Latin America. We will then continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the iconic, religious shrine of Mexico.
Today, we will visit the Anthropology Museum and Chapultepec Park which offers spectacular views over the city and has the magnificent Chapultepec Castle as one of its central features. Today we will take you to the international airport for your flight back home or on to your next exciting destination!
