The city is renowned for its famous artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Diego Rivera, to name but a few. San Miguel de Allende is considered to be the artistic centre of Mexico, with painters, sculptors, artisans and jewellers from all over Mexico, as well as other countries, have made this town their home. No doubt attracted by the stunning colonial architecture, tree-filled plazas and picturesque mountain setting.
