The Huayna Potosi Mountain is the highest peak that surrounds the City of La Paz at a massive 6088 Metres elevation. This impressive glacial peak is considered one of the easiest over-6000m climbs in the world. However, this is not a reason to be complacent; this is a tough, high altitude, technical climb! For adventure junkies only! This mountain can be found just 30 km away from the city and was first successfully climbed in 1919 by Germans Rudolf Dienst and Adolf Schultze. Llamas, sheep and alpacas inhabit this amazing mountain, as well as the majestic condor who soars amid its peaks. Acclimatisation is essential as well as excellent climbing equipment provided by us. Temperatures are bitter; views are spectacular, what more could you ask for on a mountain climb!

After a hearty breakfast we will begin our ascent to “Campo Alto” at 5000 metres elevation. This is a well-defined route leading to an obvious moraine edge. Once we arrive at the refuge, we will have a short rest and check over our mountain equipment.  We will have an early meal and get an early night before we begin our summit attempt, the following day.

After possibly the earliest breakfast you will ever have (around midnight!) we will start to head up the glacier, towards the east face and arriving at the Pala. We will then continue all the way to the top arriving at the summit of Huayna Potosi (6080 meters) after about six hours climbing. Once we get to the top, we will be able to take in the breathtaking views of the Andes around us and the sunrise in the east. After a short while enjoying this spectacle, we will begin our descent, back down to “Campo Alto”, and proce...

Personal space can be much shorter as well, but without being interpreted as sexual in nature.
