Brazil - Luxury Full-On Nature

After breakfast, we will head out along the Brazil Nut Trail, where we will see an amazing 800 year old Brazil nut tree along the route. After lunch, we will visit the 50 metre high Chip Haven Tower. From here we can see many birds species such as macaws, parakeets, parrots, tanagers and cotingas. We will also see many different monkeys species, including the white-whiskered spider monkey and the white-nosed saki monkey. We will then head back to the lodge for dinner.

Today after breakfast, we will head out on the Taboca trail, passing through bamboo groves and flooded areas, where it is possible to see many wildlife species of the Pantanal’s habitat. Return to the lodge and lunch. During the afternoon, we will head off in boats for a tour along the Cristalino River, with the opportunity to observe the beautiful scenery, wildlife species and the pristine river, until we arrive at the  Limao Rapids. We will be able to stop along the way if we spot any animal species.  We will return to the lodge in the late afternoon. 

We will begin the day with a quick boat ride to a stunning deciduous forest. After lunch, we will During the afternoon, guests will head to the Teles Pires River, to watch the spectacular sunset. We will be able to appreciate a variety of e wildlife species from the river and the surrounding forests. Return to the lodge

After breakfast, we will visit the Ted Parker Tower in the middle of a Terra Firme forest, from which we can see the nearby deciduous forest. We will return to the Lodge to pack up and leave for the Alta Foresta airport for our flight to Brasilia.  On arrival, our driver will collect us to take us on a 5 hour journey to the pousada. The pousada Trijunção has an incredibly unique location on the borders of Goias, Bahia and Minas Gerais. The pousada offers an incredible gastronomic experience with produce from the 3 regions and rooms are decorated with artwork from local artists, reflecting the wide range of diversity in Brazil. 

We will spend the following 3 days at Pousada Trijunção enjoying a number of ecological and jungle activities, such as a visit to the “Parque Sertão Veredas”, dedicated to the conservation and breeding of turtles, bird-watching, star gazing, night time kayaking trips, nighttime Eco-safaris, kayaking to the source of the Formoso River, and many other activities to reconnect with nature. We will have 3 days to experience the wonders of this unique part of Brazil.

After breakfast, we will head to the Brasilia airport, to take our flight to Campo Grande. On arrival, we will head off in our 4 x 4 to The Caíman Ecological Refuge, in the heart of the Pantanal. The Refuge is located 230 km from Campo Grande, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The Caiman Lodge is made up of 3 separate lodges, one of which has been specially designed to offer stunning views over the Pantanal. The Lodges are called Baiazinha, Cordilheira and Caiman Lodge. 

We will spend the next 3 days at the Caiman Lodge enjoying the many activities provided, to get the most out of our visit to The Pantanal.

Caiman Tour: We can visit the Onçafari Project and its environmental Interpretation Centre. Which can be found on the Paizinho bridge, inside of the Caiman Ecological Refuge, dedicated to the observation of alligators and caimans. This is where visitors to the refuge can get up close and personal to the alligators, with all the safety precautions in place. By far, the best way to get close to these famous habitats of the Pantanal.

Photographic Safari: We will head out in our specially adapted vehicles, visiting the most remote places in the area. During the photographic safari, it is possible to observe the contrasting vegetation and a large variety of animal species. You may combine this trip with other activities, such as hiking a forest trail and a Night Focus trip. 

Canadian canoe tour: This takes place on the bays of the farm. You may paddle out in a three-seated Canadian canoe and investigate the nearby vegetation and water birds. It is an excellent opportunity to hear local sounds and watch the beautiful Pantanal sunset. 

Night Focus: offers the opportunity to observe nocturnal animals. The best things to see are the caimans, whose red eyes have an impressive red, laser-like reflection. 

Jeep Safari offers more intimate contact with wildlife. We will head out in 4x4 vehicles, adapted for the safari, allowing for a closer contact with the animals and access to different Pantanal areas.

Today we will leave the unique Caiman Lodge and head to Campo Grande airport in a private 4x4 vehicle for our flight to Rio de Janeiro.  On arrival, we will head straight to the Ibitipoca Commune. The Ibitipoca Reserve is an ambitious and inspiring space of 4,000 hectares of preservation aimed at the reforestation of native plant species and wildlife corridors. The sustainable and ecological hotel also offers a variety of excursions through the stunning lush nature of the reserve, visiting waterfalls, caves and natural pools, with an experienced local guide to explain in detail about this magical place.

Over the next few days, we can enjoy an alternative and magical perspective of Rio de Janeiro. You can choose from many activities at the lodge. 

To add even more charm to your stay, you can enhance your visit to the lodge with musical performances, folk groups, sunset celebrations on the top of the mountain, horseback riding, bike trails and crossings, therapeutic massages, unforgettable lunches and free alfresco dinners in remote locations. There are 10 different circuits in the middle of magnificent landscapes, waterfalls and mountains of the national park, that can be completed on foot, electric bike, or on horseback. Today is the final day of this incredible, immersive ecological tour. We will take you to the airport for your next destination or to your hotel in Rio if you are planning to stay for a few days more.
