The travel bug has officially bitten you, so where is your next adventurous destination? What´s so incredible about travel is that you venture to other parts of the planet and experience things you could never do back home; as a result, it betters you as a human being. If your next destination is Argentina, most, if not all, of these experiences should be firmly in your plans; they WILL change your life.

Perito Moreno Glacier

Climb the highest mountain in the world (outside of The Himalayas)

The Himalayas are the dream of most mountaineers, of course, but outside of the Himalayas, the highest mountain in the world is Argentina. Just outside of Mendoza, close to the Chilean border, in the Andes Mountain Range, is the peak of Aconcagua, which towers over Chile and Argentina at 6,962 meters (22,837 feet) above sea level, and you can do multi-day treks and tours to hike and even summit this imposing peak.

Ski at the end of the world

As far as cities go, Ushuaia, at 54.8 degrees south, is the most southern city in the world and getting on the slopes here will have you skiing at the world’s southernmost ski resort. Even though the city is almost at sea level, the elevation to the northeast increases drastically, allowing you to get up Cerro Castor and ski or snowboard at the bottom of the world.

Football match of Boca Juniors at the Bombonera stadium, La Boca

To say that Boca Juniors and River Plate, Argentina’s two most successful football teams, don’t like each other is similar to the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester UTD in the premier league. These teams despise each other, and when they play just twice a year, the game is labeled the Super-Clasico and is regarded as one of the fiercest rivalries in the sport. Head to the Bombonera (home of Boca Juniors) for the ultimate match, and remember to wear a neutral color to avoid any issues. Soak up the atmosphere in one of the cauldrons of world football.

Climb the most famous Patagonian peak

Youngsters may think Patagonia's clothing brand Patagonia is simply a catchy name designed for marketing purposes. Still, the name, and the logo, directly refer to the southern portion of South America, and precisely, the Fitz Roy peak. The skyline of iconic mountains from El Chalten is a hiker’s heaven in the south of Argentina and a place to find some of the world’s best nature and take some incredible photos for your trip.

Tango, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Tango was born and evolved in the poor neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. You and you can visit the old milongas and feel the unique vibe when you dance a dance that was the only bright light in the dark life of immigrant workers during the 19th and 20th centuries in Argentina’s capital city. Learn all about the history and dance in the bustling capital of Buenos Aires, for Argentine culture at its best.

Ice-Hiking

If you are going to visit the massive picturesque Perito Moreno Glacier, do the unforgettable experience of being able to walk across the top of it. An Ice-hike will take you across the world’s 3rd largest reserve of fresh water, which is still growing and advancing. Put on your crampons and trek over one of the world’s largest floating ice masses while you still can!

Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu Falls are so stunning and enormous that it would be almost impossible to belong to one country.  Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil share a part of the world’s most recognizable cascade. From the Brazilian side, you get a panoramic view. Still, you almost step into the waterfall from the  Argentinian side; you almost step into the waterfall and feel the spray of thousands of gallons of falling water colliding with the groundwater below, something you will never forget.

Che Guevara Museum

The face of Che Guevara is the picture-perfect t-shirt and is one of the most distinguishable in the history of humanity. Stepping into Argentina, you will be visiting the homeland that helped shape him into what he became, and you will be visiting the land that helped shape him into what he became and what he stood for. Go to Alta Gracia, in the province of Cordoba, about 45 minutes from the city, to visit his childhood home, which is now a museum and learn all about the incredible man that was Che.

Navigate the world’s longest road

Apart from the 161 km Darien Gap between Panama and Colombia, the world’s longest road goes uninterrupted from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushuaia in southern Argentina. You can enjoy the longest constant stretch of this road that crosses the width of Argentina from Mendoza to Buenos Aires and then hugs the east coast south to Ushuaia.

Admire wildlife in Peninsula Valdes and Punta Tombo

Puerto Madryn is one of the places to visit in Argentina. A small port town on the Gulfo Nuevo, it gives easy access to some of the top tourist attractions in Argentina: the beautiful Península Valdés and Punta Tombo. In the summer months, it is also a beach destination (though don’t expect Caribbean-style beaches!), and throughout the year, it’s a great base to explore the region where you can admire wildlife. Go there in the winter and spring, between June and December, to admire the austral whales directly from the town jetty (although the best place to spot them is Puerto Pirámides, in the Península Valdés). Visit during the summer months (between December and March) to admire penguins and go on a boat tour to spot other marine life, such as dolphins and sea lions. Puerto Madryn is also perfect for hiking, biking,  kayaking, scuba diving, or even learning how to windsurf.
