Colombia is the second most biodiverse country in the world after Brazil and a nature lover’s paradise with its many natural sights to explore. Colombia ‘s proximity to the equator means the country has no distinct seasons and its climate is mainly defined by the altitude of the location, which makes it an ideal year-round destination to visit. From cultural festivals to natural wonders, our Naturally Colombia tour will introduce you to unique things to see and do throughout the best natural regions of Colombia.

Bogota

We start in the capital, which once was regarded as unsafe for tourists, however now Bogotá has established itself as one of the most exciting and culturally diverse cities in South America. The friendly residents of the Colombian capital, and an excellent culinary scene, only add to the intoxicating atmosphere this city exudes.

Caño Cristales

Caño Cristales is open from May to early November, when the river is filled with water from the rainy season. This is the best season to visit, as it is the time when the colorful rivers and ponds are at their most vivid. The Caño Cristales is a natural phenomenon that stretches for over 100 kilometres in the mountains of la Macarena National Park. It’s a river unlike any other, as it’s filled with vibrant red, blue, yellow and black colours. It also has natural swimming pools and waterfalls to marvel at.

Caño Piedra

The beauty of Cano Piedra is based in its tranquillity and is symbolism for rural Colombian lifestyle. Scattered with traditional Colombian finca´s within these impressive Colombian flatlands, enchanting with its vividness and serenity, surrounded by the stunning mountains of Sierra de Macarena. Marvel at the natural rocky formations, sculptured by the winds and time in this magical region, before returning to the comfort of your lodge.

La Miel Eco-hike

Hike on an eco-trail through dense Andean cloud forest to a 20-meter-high waterfall called La Miel, and enjoy e a relaxing swim just a few minutes outside of town. We will then enjoy flora and fauna in the nearby nature reserve, where Colombian nature surrounds us with impressive flora and fauna.

El Peñol Rock

This huge boulder sticks out of the mountains and is somewhat unmissable, offering incredible panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and islands of the Guatapé reservoir. It’s a short and steep climb to the top of El Peñol, with the exact number of steps from bottom to top being 740!  but it’s well worth the effort for the panoramic views from the top.

Nuqui

Nuqui is the most spectacular natural landscape in Colombia. The region is ideal for those who love nature and the calming sounds that radiate. A destination with uncountable waters, flora, and fauna, where the essence of life is rediscovered. There is no noise pollution here, nor the complications of modern life. Only the perfect atmosphere for relaxing, dreaming, and creating. Nuquí is famous for spectacles such as the arrival of the yubarta, or humpback, whales from July to November and of all the wildlife that hides among the rich vegetation of the tropical rainforest and an ocean that teems with animal and vegetal species. Nuqui is a nature-lovers paradise.
