Day by day schedule
Day 1 - Belém
Today is your arrival day to the city of Belém. This is the largest city in the North of Brazil and is the gateway to the Amazon Jungle. Your guide will collect you from the airport and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a walking tour through the historic centre, which was the first Portuguese outpost in the Amazon region, when they arrived here in the 1600s. In the evening, we will enjoy a glorious sunset at Estação das Docas, on the Guajará river bank.
Day 2 - Belém
After breakfast we will enjoy a visit to the local market of Ver-o-Peso, home to the largest variety of local regional products and unique specialties of the Pará state, for a cultural, colourful and aromatic mixture to satisfy the senses!
In the afternoon, we will visit the Natura Company, the biggest sustainable Certified B Corporation in Brazil, producing ecological and natural cosmetics. The corporation are leaders in the positive use of resources from the area in an ecological and sustainable way.
Day 3 - Belém - Cotijuba Island
Today we will head to the Icoaraci pier for a trip to the Cotijuba Island, by riverboat. The local community will receive with open arms and introduce us to the Island. We will enjoy lunch at the centre of The Belém Islands Women’s Movement. We will be able to see their “hands-on” bio-jewellery workshop, made from seeds and other natural materials from the Amazon jungle. In the afternoon we will head to a local family home to share in their daily activities and enjoy a traditional home-cooked dinn...
Day 4 - Cotijuba Island
After breakfast with the family, we will head out on a hike through the Amazon rainforest to spot the local flora and fauna of the jungle region. We will have lunch with a local family. We will then have a free afternoon to work alongside the local hosts, preparing the decorations and dishes for a sensorial evening beach luau event, listening to the traditional rhythms, enjoying the flavours and warmth of Pará state and its people. We will spend the night once more with a local family.
Day 5 - Cotijuba Island - Belém
Today we will enjoy a morning workshop at Belém Islands Women’s Movement headquarters to learn about the community activities that protect the Amazon Forest and maintain its native traditions. After a special farewell lunch. We will take the riverboat back to Icoaraci pier and then head to the Belém’s Airport for our flight onto our next destination!
