This 4 day trek is an excursion from Quito to head out of the city and get on some of the impressive trekking trails close by. This trail begins in the Tambo community to Papallacta, better known as "El Camino del Cóndor". The trail crosses past the Antisana volcano, the Sincholagua mountain and finishing in the Cotopaxi National Park and is the perfect off the beaten track destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital.

Day by day schedule
We will leave Quito, driving down the road that will take us to the Jungle, just like Francisco de Orellana, who discovered the Amazon river in Colonial times. We will we pass over 4200 metres elevation as we arrive to the trailhead near Papallacta. The Condor Trek starts in Tambo, where we will hike across the Paramo ecosystem, covered in grasslands and beautiful Andean flowers. After lunch, we will hike for approximately 4 hours to the Antisana Volcano lake, arriving at around 4 to 5 P.M. depending on our pace. This is where we will set up our camp for the evening.
After breakfast, we will leave the volcano lake to trek to the Santa Lucia River. Today's hike will take you across the high Paramo, the perfect place to see Andean Eagles and Condors. After a lunch stop, we will continue on our way, hiking through beautiful countryside near the Antisana mountain with its spectacular glacier. If the weather is clear, we will have impressive views over the region. On the horizon, the magnificent Cotopaxi volcano will come into view as we arrive at the Santa Lucia River, our campsite for the evening.
We leave the Santa Lucia river after a hearty breakfast and start our hike to the El Carmen River. Along the way, we will cross an extensive flat area with a fantastic surrounding view of the Andean hills and the Mica Lake. This is the perfect place to spot the Andean Eagles and Condors. After lunch, we will continue to hike uphill to our campsite for the evening, at the El Carmen River.
The final days’ hike will take us through stunning countryside, the habitat for condors, eagles, llamas and other Andean fauna. We will pass by the base of the colourful Sincholagua mountain, formed from red and yellow rocks, due to the natural minerals typical for Volcanos in the Andes. We will have a boxed lunch on the way as we head on the descent to the Cotopaxi National Park and to the Pita river. From the river, we will head to Tambopaxi for impressive views of the Cotopaxi Volcano. Our car will be waiting to take us back to the city of Quito for the evening, where our incredible trek ends.

Best travel guide and company for our family trip to Machu Picchu
Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) did the short Inka trail to Machu Picchu and our guide Carlos Caceres was the best! He made our trip to Machu Picchu very special and memorable. He was very experienced, kind, patient and always made sure we were taken care of. The trip went so smoothly because of Carlos. From making sure we got on trains to buses to trail crossings to restaurants in town, he was always on top of it. Highly recommend Valencia Travel Cusco and Carlos as your guide. We were grateful for everything.

Amazing experience, lifetime of memories!
The trip was incredible! The views were spectacular, the history is amazing and we could not have asked for more. The trail was challenging, but it was worth it. Our guide Miguel made sure everything went smoothly and he made the difficult journey a joy for me and my family! Highly recommend for any family looking for an adventure!

Everyday was a wonderful adventure
We have just finished 14 days in Peru with Valencia Travel. We had Ronaldo as our guide. Fantastic
We went on a short Inka Trail hike with Valencia Travel Cusco for 2 days. Private tour - just my husband and me and our fantastic guide Nicholson. It was an amazing experience- from the first meet up to talk about the details until our trip back to Cusco. Perfectly organized. We had a wonderful time. Nicholson made sure that we enjoy every minute of this trip. He provided support , motivation and encouragement. He made sure we always felt comfortable and could enjoy the trail in our pace. Our guide Louis was the best guide ever! The sourroundings where really amazing and all the team made the Inka trail a super adventure. I got problem with the altitude and Louis made the differens to make the 4-day excursion an extraordinary experience. The last day he also guided at the stunning Machu Picchu - that was a lifetime dream coming true - and Louis made it even better.

Fantastic experience with great guide

Great adventure
Ruben was extra ordinary and highlight of the tour he went above and beyond There are no words to describe his generosity. Very happy to do the tour. He was the highlight. And the coach to Puno 10 hr journey was super comfortable. Flight schedule was poor. And hotel were on a good location but basic.

Machu Picchu
My partner and I have had Machu Picchu on our bucket list for many years, and we were finally able to experience not only Machu Picchu but so many other incredible sights across Peru through TripADeal.
