Today is arrival day to Campeche!  Your guide will be waiting at the airport to take to you to your hotel.

This morning you will enjoy a cultural city tour of Campeche, the UNESCO World Heritage 

Our first visit will be at the Museo de Estelas Mayas, exhibiting Mayan stelae and regional art. We will then continue on our way to visit the Puerta de Tierra. An 18th century bronze cannon with the royal insignia welcomes you to Puerta de Tierra. SWe will climb to the top of the ramparts, where we can observe the domes of the Campeche churches. We will then head to the Bastion of San Francisco and the Bastion of San Juan, located in the same complex, where there is a small pirate museum. 

We will then walk along the called Casas de Colores street with its brightly painted houses and colonial doors. There are also a number of art galleries with works of Campeche artists, handicraft stores, churches, the Campechano Institute, Parque de la Independencia, the Cathedral, and the Puerta del Mar, which was the main entrance to this walled city.  

At night, don’t miss the fascinating light and sound show at La Puerta de Tierra. After the show, you can take a walk along the Historic Center’s cobblestone streets, where you’ll see a wide variety of stores, restaurants, bars and cafes. You can also take a stroll down the beautiful 3.5-km boardwalk, which leads to a tourist walkway, parks and a bicycle track.

Today we will head to the archaeological site of Hochob  Hochob means “ears of corn,” a name given to the site by Teobert Maler who rediscovered the site in the 19th century. 

Like other settlements in the Chenes area, Hochob is made from terraces and platforms which occupy the hillsides, Several reservoirs were strategically located for the collection, storage, and distribution of rainwater. We will then head toTabasqueño who’s name comes from ,a person from the State of Tabasco who lived a short distance north of the site. This motivated the explorer Teobert Maler, to document the Mayan remains and call them by this name. Tabasqueño consists of a rectangular plan, surrounded on all sides by buildings characteristic of the Chenes architectural style. We will then return to Campeche in the afternoon.

Today we will visit the Santa Rosa Xtampak archaeological site. Xtampak means “Old Walls” in the Mayan language. Santa Rosa Xtampak is one of the few places in the region that has altars, carved steles with dates. It also has many free-standing sculptures, constructed with pyramidal. in this ancient city, you will find everything “atypical” for the region, making experts believe it was the regional capital. After this visit we will return to the hotel

Today you will visit some villages located along the Camino Real, the path built by the Spanish to connect the City of Campeche with Merida in the Yucatan. Our first stop is Tenabo, a village dedicated to making hammocks, huipiles (traditional blouses) and homemade sweets.  We will visit La Iglesia de la Asuncion and the central park here.

We will then head to Pomuch, where the majority of its old houses were built with carved stones that were extracted from the nearby archaeological site of Xcochac. Bread making is a central part of  Pomuch’s culture The tradition of bread is very present in this place, with bakeries such as La Conchita, Pan de Pomuch, Los Tres Reyes, and La Huachita. We will then visit Calkini, a village with a significant cultural, natural, and artisan characteristics. We cannot leave without tasting its rich gastronomy and acquiring typical crafts of the region such as pottery in Tepakán; the famous jipi hat, the sought-after Panama hats in Bécal; wooden articles, hammocks, embroidery, and textiles made by the people of Dzitbalché;  Becal is the village famous for the Panama hats made of jipi-japa fibres. We will then return to the hotel.

Day 06 -Seybaplaya

After breakfast, we will head to the fishing village of Seybaplaya for a day dedicated to relaxing.  Seybaplaya, This is one of the most pristine beaches in the region.

Day 07 -Back home or Extension

Today is the final day of this tour. We will take you to Campeche airport or continue with a trip extension to another exciting destination!
