Trip Overview

Chiapas is an incredible state of Mexico, famous for its Indigenous people, incredible archaeological sites, natural prowess and culture. Chiapas is typically known as Mexico’s most southern and most mysterious state. Blessed with abundant rainforests, ruins, wildlife, strange regional specialities and an eclectic mixture of cultures, Chiapas is home to the indigenous people, Spanish and even Zapatistas! Originally Chiapas formed part of Guatemala but then became part of Mexico in 1824 when they gained independence from the Spanish. Chiapas has the greatest biological diversity in North America.
