The trekking and mountain climbing of the Cordillera Real and Huayna Potosi is a main highlight for a lot of trekkers. The Choro trail starts in the mountains of the Cordillera Real and heads down to the Yungas and the Muela del diablo trek, are popular treks in the region. The mountain climbs include the Illimani, Huayna Potosi, the Pequeño Alpamayo, or the Sajama, the highest mountain in Bolivia.

Lake Titicaca is the highest lake in the world and be visited both from Peru and Bolivia. The Bolivian side of the lake boasts the Island of The Sun and the Island of the Moon, found in the middle of the lake and are home to ancient Bolivian cultures and archaeologocal sites.
